I like your comparison with breakfasting. On a cold day like today, it soon becomes obvious what happens when you skip breakfast. Similarly with a warm up for choir.
Sometimes I just launch in to a choir session with no attempt at a warm up at all. We do a bit of singing, then I go back and do the warm up and ask people if they can see a difference. Almost everyone notices that it was really hard launching in from nothing. It's a good lesson for those people who think warm ups are a waste of time!
I'd better keep a closer eye on your blog from now on in case I end up copying you or re-inventing the wheel!
