This song was written and originally performed by Sting, appearing first on his album Ten Summoner's Tales, then as the title track to his first compilation album. The arrangement is also informed by Eva Cassidy's evocative performance of it. There is both warmth and wistfulness in the folk-like melody, and the lyrics invoke wide-open spaces of barley-fields and limitless skies.
