One Day Like This

Elbow's single, based on a line in Guy Garvey's diary, won the Ivor Novello award for Best Song in 2009. The arrangement follows the original's emotional trajectory from quiet delight to exuberant joy, held together by a heartbeat-like rhythmic motif.

Note that this arrangement is not simply a transposition of my version for women's voices, but re-imagines the song for a male-voice ensemble.
