Superwoman/Change

This is a medley of two songs of empowerment. Alicia Keys's aspirational song of female encouragement frames Christine Aguilera's more meditative vision of hope for us all, which also re-appears to close the medley. It is an ambitious piece, in expressive power, scale of structure and the vocal demands it makes on singers. It was commissioned by an affirmative and ambitious women's chorus, and designed to give them a sense of reaching out beyond themselves, of matching the artistic challenges to the strength of their intention.
